So Blackberry is not that Bad!!!

You might kill me for saying what I said or may even call me a grandfather. But seriously Blackberry's phone is pretty awesome.

Maybe I've been pampered quite a bit by the folks at Blackberry but speaking on the grounds of hardware and the phone's OS, I think its got material and content that stands out as being separate and at the same time be something that is easily relatable to.

Their hardware is also over standard and as a developer it is a big win for as I see no real device size fragmentation problems as I see only 2 device size to cater for. Only issue might be is that its not an small change between the size shifts, its bigger than huge.

Ah well, you've always got to live with some of them.

Games performance wise they are again pretty brilliant. Sometimes even better than the iOs and Android counterparts.

In terms of development, it certainly has got its perks with being pretty awesome on its performance but there are couple of issues.

Few the devs that I talk to have already complained that there are some shader supports not available on the device which is a major and huge bummer.
In terms of monetizing non paying players also a big mountain to climb on. The ad support on blackberry is pretty poor in general and weirdly so, the number of paying customers are also on the down low. Thankfully some folks I know are trying to fix that issues with a specific ad service and giving native control to Unity in particular since we work with that specifically.

What do you think??
Think Blackberry is a lost cause?
Think there is light at the end of the tunnel for Blackberry??

*Update: Just read that Blackberry has dropped 20 times than what the analyst were expecting. Well, seems like they are pretty screwed at the moment.

Hopefully things pan out for the better.

Super Like: Where's My Water 2

Are we going to be seeing a wave of change? Or is this just a one of the lot that decides to do good?

THEY REMOVE THE ENERGY MECHANICA!!!! THAT IS LIKE FUAAAAA MOMENT IN A GOOD WAY!!!! :P

In any which case, its a real positive sign displayed by Disney. The doing away with the energy system really removes folks from the unnecessary appointment mechanic which really doesn't work well with such games.

Its really interesting how the folks at King.com have done a brilliant job with the mechanic but its really not a simple thing to just add on to an existing game.

The time has come to think of more innovative ways to approach the F2P genre and I think this is a step towards that goal.

You think of some new F2P mechanics, please feel free to ponder upon on the comments sections below.

Probably this is a post that I can sustain in the long run, so keep tuned.

Cut The Rope 2 : Om Nom Bah Humbug

Ironic that the first blog is about a paid game.

Cut The Rope 2 was sorta a disappointment for me.

Philosophies aside, the game is a true money monger. I would've been totally okay if the game was a grind to play with. I'm that type of person. But most of the unique levels are only possible to unlock using the power ups that's only achievable through purchase.

Anyhoo, Cut the Rope 2 does live up to expectation as they've got beautiful graphics, their levels and the new mechanics that are added are simply awesome. I really like the way they've introduced their new characters, the Nommies, onto the game, and I think this a deserved sequel to their existing reputation.  Its super polished and everything just pops out so seamlessly.

They have a small big stuff for their character customization, but thats more like just an option there, but its cute, but who really care for their looks. Too many buts there :P

But yes, their core monetization strategy is something to hate them for a lot especially after being a paid game. ARGHH!!!

Cut the Rope 2 is now available for iOs across all countries
